An Ode to Puthucode (Now With Pictures)

Unfortunately I didn't have all my pictures ready when I posted about Puthucode Bhagavathy. Now I have them ready and here they are. The picture at the top is of course the Bhagavathy Herself.
First the Temple Entrance:

Next the Outer Prakaaram

Third, the Mahaganapathy Sannidhi

Next, the Namaskara Mandapam

Finally, the Naga Prathishta

Hi Rashmi

Indeed, there is a "kulam" in front of the temple. Perhaps I could write a post about all the kulams in Puthucode including the large one at the warriam.

Best wishes

very nice pictures of the temple. In my childhood years, I use to spend my school holidays with my grandparents in the South Village every year and loved the time I spent there. I haven't been to Puthucode for years, but will be going in couple of weeks.

anybody knows the history like how Bhagavathy incarnated? how she became Peaceful? etc., etymology of Bhagavathy?? googled but couldn't find it!!! we are natives of Palakkad and my Mama is currently peforming pujai there. My father's mama was doing pujai then. However, i don't even remember if i visited Koil as back then i was 3 years old and was on a piligrimage to malai.

After decades, I had the good fortune to visit Puthucode for Padinjare Grama Vilakku this year - was surprised to see so many new structures especially in South and North villages. Devi looked resplendent in her alankaram. I hope I can visit again soon with my whole family.

I used to visit Puthucode during the vacation times and remember the Navarathri festival and making garlands for the Bhagavathi temple. One of my best childhood memories.
